The government feared that the feature could promote terrorism. Notably, Google could not introduce its plan as the Indian government rejected its plan in 2016 over security concerns. The ten cities include - Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Nashik, Vadodara, Ahmednagar, and Amritsar. The service will cover 10 Indian cities and the company also set the target to reach 50 Indian cities by the end of the year. In the initial phase, the tech giant introduced the service with local giants Genesys and Tech Mahindra. The new service will allow users to explore an area through 360-degree panoramic street-level photos.
